Just south of the sprawling USC campus and less than 2 miles west of the blue, red and purple LED lights that cascades over Downtown Los Angeles’ night sky lies a secret cove of the coolest kids coming all together for one great cause.
As soon as the car door opened, a familiar scent of somewhere between pine cone and ammonia filled the air. Patrons of all kinds made their way to the back of the venue for security clearance. “Surf” by Young Thug blared over the speakers at a distance and vendors littered the outdoor space leading to the indoor marketplace filled with even more vendors.
The Jamaican food truck parked near the entrance almost looked like a display until a line of about 20 happy-go-lucky stoners waiting for oxtails and curry chicken validated its real existence.
A dirt laden pathway was lined up with vehicles leading to the wide open entrance, reminiscent of a back house party in the country somewhere. Here, dozens of vendors were offering free dabs, a concentrated form of THC that gets the smoker to the place of ecstasy a little bit faster than the average smoke. Another vendor is prepping for the aftermath of smoked out patrons with the munchies by frying bacon wrapped hotdogs, a typical LA street food.
Many crowded together to participate in the edible eating contest. The edibles consisted of candies of all sorts, including Lucas and gummies.
One glimpse of the smoky room revealed bright colors and amazing candy-themed concentrates, from Gushers to cookies and everything in between. The menu had more than 31 flavors in total, including flowers, ice cream cake, cookies, purple punch and much more.
Hosted by Mr. TC, the weekly event Levitate 710 Sesh is a haven for vendors that want to show off new products in the smoker world. Patrons can get free samples, test new gadgets, network with business owners and snack on carnival style food, all while enjoying live performances by Hip Hop artists.
