The last time the film world had a “good burger” was in 1997 when the film of the same name aired on Nickelodeon. Millennials and Gen Zers never forgot the impact of two of its main characters, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, as the good-natured duo Dex and Ed.
Who could forget the ‘90s mix bowl of celebrity fame consisting of comedian Sinbad, TV Star Shar Jackson, singers Marques Houston and George Clinton, veteran actor Abe Vigoda, and Shaquille O’Neal! For All That fans, it was even more satisfying seeing actress Lori Beth Denberg as the Connie Muldoon. Nearly three decades later, the sequel is introducing some new players to the game.
Written by Kevin Kopelow, Heath Seifert, and James III, Good Burger 2 reunites Dexter and Ed during a time of technological advancement. When they’re solicited by MegaCorp, a fast food corporation with grand aspirations to replace human employees with robots, Dex and Ed must find a way to stop the legendary burger joint from meeting its ultimate demise.
Denberg returns, along with Carmen Electra who played an uncredited role in the original film. New to the crew are Jillian Bell and Lil Rel Howery. Marsai Martin also appears to make a cameo, she’s featured as a customer of the Good Burger establishment in the trailer.
Surprisingly, Kai Cenat, the Twitch and YouTube streamer who caught the attention of the world after spontaneously gathering thousands of fans in the middle of New York, also makes a cameo. It’s a very smart move on the behalf of distributor Paramount+ in its attempt to link millennial IP with younger generations.

While Cenat has been credited in music videos with NLE Choppa and Offset, for instance, and was even featured in the 18-minute short film Global Pursuit, Good Burger 2 will be the rising star’s feature film debut.
Good Burger 2 streams Nov. 22 on Paramount+.
