From The Pimp Chronicles to Great America, Katt Williams has always managed to entertain the masses with common sense comedy. At one point in time, the multi-hyphen talent was arguably the top mainstream comedian of his era, only sharing the title with fellow comedian Dave Chappelle in recent.
Nowadays, he’s considered the “King of Underground Comedy,” opting to leave the Hollywood spotlight for a more grassroots movement in cities around the world. With that said, his last stand up special, World War III, released in 2022, was not his best, and it even appeared to be a sign of a fading star. Thankfully, for diehard fans, Williams has rebounded in tip top shape in his latest venture, The Dark Matter Tour.
The self-labeled conspiracy theorist doubles down as the “Illuminati Reporter,” covering a multitude of pop culture headlines, such as the Lizzo debacle and YMW Nelly’s recent trial. Within the hour-long event, Williams manages to address race relations and his own trials and tribulations, a barrage of arrests dating back to 2009 that have stunted his public persona. Most of the arrests resulted from allegations of assault, battery, and courtroom no-shows. However, Williams’ contentious relationship with the law doesn’t stop him from inspiring others.

One of his running punchlines throughout the tour revolves around Florida recording artist and Love & Hip Hop Miami reality star Trick Daddy, suggesting that anyone can make it if the outspoken rapper did in spite of his health issues, online antics, and unfiltered opinions. Williams furthers this sentiment by calling out new-age notions and the resulting world of possibilities now opened to the general public.
While he speaks in jest, the tour’s takeaway is quite simple. Human flaws are part of everyone’s journey. Learning from the mistakes of others will indeed expedite some people to higher levels in life, but remember, each level comes with its own opposition. Williams rather you laugh along the way.
