K Camp must be among the last music artists in the era of R&B and rap debauchery that still holds on to commonsense and reality.
Originally introduced as the third song on the 12-track studio album, Vibe Forever, released in July, “Holy Spirit” maintains the stance on balancing the righteous and ratchet that comes with having a solid foundation, while simultaneously striving in a ruthless world. That sensibility is immersed in his delivery as he combines aspects of gospel influences with the genre-blurring sectors of R&B and hip hop.
Following “Woozie,” “Holy Spirit” is the second single off of Vibe Forever, released under K Camp’s label banner, Rare Sounds, in partnership with Interscope Records. The catchy beat produced by Eric Billingsly and Harto Beats contains hard-hitting bass similar to his 2014 hit single, “Cut Her Off.” The lyrics were penned by K Camp and the producing duo.
He rap sings, “I can’t chase no h**s, but I can chase a check though / My weed is loud like a Greek step show.”
The official music video is produced by Paperwork and directed by Bobby Lee Palmer, known for his work with rapper Sahbabii. The video is littered with symbolism and cryptic features, such as a bible, floating vehicle, flying birds, and for added measure, a lightening storm.
