“Jokes On Me” Video By The Crucified Tory Lanez Tells His Story Through Symbolic Visuals

The music visual for Tory Lanez single “Jokes On Me” released this week to a huge reception. Listeners flocked to the video driving the viewership up to 5.4 million, with 90,000 likes on YouTube.

Directed by Sam Brave, “Jokes On Me” symbolically parallels the real-life drama that Lanez has experienced in 2020. The video shows Lanez laying lifeless in a pool of blood on the floor of a beautiful house with a knife in his back. His girl is the culprit that stabbed him in the back.

She proceeds to drag him through mud while he’s in a bodybag and place him in a small boat. With blood all over her hands and body, she throws him in the lake and watches him drown. Cuts of her witnessing Lanez make love to her best friend intermix with her watching the man sink to the bottom.

Lanez gives fans a greater insight to his situation with former flame and rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Although he attempts to be subliminal, references to an affair with a best friend, along with his lyrics drove most fans to assume he was talking about his broken relationship with the Texas rapper.

No one was there to hold you down when it was cloudy
But they show up when it’s sunny, ain’t it?
And it pours rain on my umbrella but this one I got’s forever, oh
I hope it was fun, me and yo’ best friend, we had a thing but that was something
She real as fuck, you could’ve told her but you dead wrong
Instead you left her out for dead, girl, is your head gone?
Fuck is the loyalty?
Tell me, who the fuck taught you your loyalty?
How you try to fuck me and then foil me?
Poppin’ up in places that you know I’ll be?
I done kept this shit so real, you owe me
I done kept this shit so real, you know me
