The Instagram series Verzuz has rocketed out of the stratosphere, becoming one of the most epic phenomenons to have been birthed out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
R&B singers Jill Scott and Erykah Badu graced us with their discographies on Saturday, May 9.
The two queens kicked off the event with the Roots “You Got Me”. The fans went crazy when both Badu and Scott played their own versions of the song. Talk about chills and shrivers. Two talented ladies with great legacies.
They followed up with Badu’s “On and On” and Scott’s “Gettin’ In The Way”.
Badu would go on to play “Mamas Gun”, “Back In The Day”, “Other Side Of The Game”, “Apple Tree”, “Love Of My Life” and of course, “Tyrone”, among many more.
Scott played “Slowly Surely”, “Honey Molasses”, “Gettin’ In The Way”, “Watching Me”, “So In Love”, “You Love Me”, “Cross My Mind”, along with other fan favorites.
The event went on for about three hours and clocked nearly 700k IG viewers. The whole experience was a vibe as positive comments were consistently posted.
