Hi Haters: Jasmin Cadavid Has Advice On How To Determine Constructive Criticism From Hate

Recording artist and entrepreneur Jasmin Cadavid has some great advice for having tunnel vision when it comes to criticism that is not constructive.

The CBD business owner went on DJ Smallz to discuss receiving criticism that comes off more as hate.

“It really depends on the person it’s coming from because if you know somebody and you know that they don’t have any wrong intentions,” said Cadavid. “You know that they are genuinely just giving you some suggestions. But, other times, a lot of the times, people are pretending like they’re just trying to give constructive criticism, but really they’re actually hating. A lot of times, it comes from people that are close to you.”

Cadavid said a popular star that she was dating told her she was “one cheeseburger away”. It made her self-conscious and played with her esteem. She learned that she has to keep her circle filled with people who are supportive and have the best intentions.

“They always say like it’s good to be smart, but not too smart. It’s never good to be anything too much because people don’t like to see that. People don’t want to see that you have it all. That’s why they’re always picking at them small things because they don’t like to see that you’re good at this, you’re good at that. They will act like they’re good, but really deep down it’s something insecure within them. They’re not happy with themselves and they’re actually just saying things out of spite.”

The up-and-coming star is not afraid to shut the world out and distance herself from people who make her feel bad about herself.

“I’m to a point in my life like that if it’s not making me happy and every time I come around you, I’m upset and you constantly make me feel some type of way, I don’t have time to deal with that.”
