Janet Jackson announced that she will be going on a world tour starting in June. The Black Diamond World Tour 2020 will feature some new music from the “Got ‘Til It’s Gone” singer.
She will also include a special performance of “Rhythm Nation”, a hit song that was released in 1989 off of Jackson’s fourth studio album Rhythm Nation 1814.
The song was a revolutionary game-changer that would go on to influence tastemakers of culture and music industry peers. “Rhythm Nation” would go on to win the Soul Train Music Award for Best Video of the Year, the MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography and the Billboard Award for Top Dance/Club Play Single of the Year.
The 34-city tour will run from June 24th through August 23rd. Miami will be the first stop, while other cities will include Atlanta, New Orleans, Philadelphia, New York City, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, San Diego and Los Angeles, to name a few. International dates will be announced in the near future.
Jackson posted, “I’ve heard all your wishes and I’m working on my new album and going on a new World Tour this summer titled “Black Diamond”. I’m so excited to share this new era with you.”
Tickets will be available for pre-sale on Feb. 11 at janetjackson.com.
Jackson’s career spans four decades with 11 studio albums under her belt. The Black Diamond World Tour will mark the 10th tour that she’s headlined.
