In one of the most exhilarating fights of the Triller sponsored PPV boxing event, Jake Paul of Calabasas sleeps former NBA player Nate Robinson, 36, after several knock downs that left the athlete holding his head and covering his eyes. The fight took place at the Los Angeles Staples Center on Saturday (Nov. 28).
Paul (2-0), the 23-year-old polarizing YouTuber turned undefeated boxer, landed eight punches out of 38 throws with a 21 percent turnout. Robinson came out explosive, landing 10 punches, with 56 throws at 18 percent.
In round 2, Paul ended the mostly hugging affair with a KO, leaving Robinson in a daze. The fight was a perfect opening for the main event: Tyson vs. Jones Jr.
In his post-fight interview, he called out his haters with an inspiring message. “Being from Ohio, a small town, and making my way out to Los Angeles, to fame and success and just fighting for it — fighting for everything,” Paul said. “People never believing in me, people hating me. Being one of the most hated people in the world…I had to fight through that, it’s not easy. So, for me this is the perfect score. I found my lane.”
Now at 3-0, Paul made his bid to fight UFC Champion Conor McGregor and Dillon “El Jefe” Danis. Danis, who obviously watched the bout, questioned whether his fans wanted to see him fight Paul.
Paul also revealed that he was fighting with a broken nose that he got while meditating just four weeks ago. The YouTube Villain is now going to focus on his music — he recently released a music video for his single “Park South Freestyle” — and a documentary that he said is coming out soon.
