Jackée Harry And Vivica A. Fox Star In ‘A Christmas For Mary,’ New Addition To OWN’s Original Holiday Film Slate

This season brings a new holiday film for families to add to their collection. Jackée Harry (The Paynes) And Vivica A. Fox (True To The Game 2) star in A Christmas For Mary, from the production hub OWN and Hybrid LLC in association with Harpo Films.

Upcoming actress Morgan Dixon of Being Mary Jane fame makes her first TV movie debut, starring with Leah Briese (Jane The Virgin) and Ricco Ross (P-Valley).

A Christmas For Mary is a heartwarming tale about journalist Lena Jones (Dixon) looking for the perfect story to impress magazine editor Vivian Vaye (Fox) in hopes of receiving a promotion. A portrait of a mysterious woman painted by her late grandfather leads her on a journey to unveil a love story that inspires her to find her own true love. David DeCoteau directs the film written by Angela Marie Hutchinson.

The film is part of a holiday celebration of original Christmas movies on OWN. Two other films rounding out the network’s slate include Cooking Up Christmas with Lamman Rucker (Greenleaf), premiering on Dec. 15, and First Christmas with Idara Victor (Love Is_), premiering on Dec. 22. Married couple Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin will host the music special Our OWN Christmas to kick off the network’s celebration on Dec. 1.

“Following the overwhelming success of our inaugural holiday movie slate last year, we’re excited to announce all-new movies with heartwarming storylines the whole family can enjoy,” said Tina Perry, president of OWN. “We hope that viewers will continue to make watching our movies together a part of their ongoing holiday traditions.”

A Christmas For Mary premieres Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on OWN.
