Idris Elba Tests Positive For COVID-19, Says He’s OK

Idris Elba announced that he has been tested for the coronavirus and the results came out positive.

The Fast & Furious actor made the announcement on Twitter early Monday morning.

“This morning, I got some test results back for coronavirus and it came back positive,” said Elba on a video he posted to Twitter. “Yeah, and it sucks. Listen, I’m doing ok.”

Elba took the test on Friday after he was made aware that someone around him had tested positive. He quarantined himself immediately upon finding out the results.

The married star said he never showed any symptoms. At the moment, his wife Sabrina hasn’t been tested, but the star ensures she’s doing OK.

“This is serious. Now’s the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that, there are people out there who aren’t sharing symptoms that can easily spread it.”

Besides politicians, Tom Hanks was one of the first actors to publicly reveal that he has the virus.

Idris Elba is easily one of the MouthSoap’s favorite actors. He’s known for his legendary acting in The Wire, American Gangster, Avengers: Infinity War and Beasts of No Nation.

He just wrapped on DC Comics film The Suicide Squad and director Ricky Staub’s Concrete Cowboys, a highly anticipated film about the life of a black cowboy.

We wish Mr. Elba and his family the best and hope for a speedy recovery.
