Houston’s RC Fitness Is Not Your Average Gym Experience, Gives Fresh Retake On Step Aerobics

The largest city in Texas is championing another cultural movement and it’s changing lives. Houston gave the world DJ Screw, Wes Anderson, Beyonce, the Space Center, Lakewood Church, and one of the largest cancer research and treatment centers in the U.S., just to name a few things. For the last decade, the diverse city has been home to the revolutionary fitness mecca RC Fitness owned by physical trainer Reggie Collier.

RC Fitness is exclusive to women and solely focuses on weight loss and toning through innovative exercise techniques. One of the fitness company’s most popular is the ZtepShift, a cardio technique that incorporates modern hip hop dance with step aerobics. What could be a mundane, routine workout becomes a creatively expressive fitness experience that makes the gym feel like a club.

Some of the videos of members have gone viral showing women of all shapes and sizes wearing vibrant fitness gear while performing synchronized choreography as they step up and down on their steppers. The exercise sessions are led by certified trainers who have an affinity for high-energy music that keeps the heart pumping.

In addition to ZtepShift, trainers offer customize meal plans, personal training sessions, bootcamps, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), strength and conditioning training, and cycling. The company conducts group training and personal appointments at its Signature Physiques Studio and the infamous Queens Compound, where most of the ZtepShift sessions have taken place.

To date, the center claims that it helped 14,125-plus women lose over 292,000 pounds.

There’s also a possible city tour in the works if current public health affairs permit. Workouts from home are available for those who cannot be physically present or just can’t wait for RC Fitness to make its way to their city.
