Tina Lawson confirmed that personal fitness trainer, Craig Adams, passed away after battling a severe case of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Adams was a prominent, well-known trainer in Houston. The superstar mother expressed her grief over Adams’ death during an interview on ABC13 with Melanie Lawson.
“You know when the girls [Destiny’s Child] first started, Craig was Beyonce’s trainer and that’s how we met him,” Lawson said in the interview. “He was such a great guy that he became a part of the touring, and he was security for awhile.”
Lawson continued, “If you knew Craig, he just always had a smile on his face. Always was positive … I’ve never heard him say one negative thing about anybody — even when they deserved it. Just a good, salt of the earth, honest guy. So, when I heard this today — I haven’t seen him in years and years — but, it was just heartbreaking for me to hear that he died and the way he died, from COVID.”
While details remain scarce, Adams apparently suffered from kidney failure. On Instagram, Lawson posted that “this horrible killer disease attacked his organs, his lungs first (and) made him have kidney failure.”
Since the start of the pandemic, Texas has experienced a total of 3,288,214 cases. About 3,016,348 people have recovered, while there are 217,754 active cases. To date, 54,112 people have died in Texas as a result of contracting COVID-19. Harris County, which includes cities Houston, Tomball, Spring, Cypress, Aldine, Cloverleaf, and Jersey Village, has the highest number of cases and deaths in the Lone Star state.
Condolences to the friends and family of Craig Adams.
