House Votes 232-196 To Formalize Impeachment Process

The House voted today to formalize the impeachment process against Donald Trump. The resolution passed with a House vote of 232-196.

A majority of the Democrats voted against Trump to formalize the impeachment process, while two Democrats, Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) and Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN) voted in Trump’s favor.

All 194 House Republicans voted in support of Trump and against the impeachment process.

Polls show that half the nation supports the removal of Trump from office. Now that an impeachment process is formalizing, the next step would be to implement hearings that will further set the narrative for the impeachment of Trump.

The Democrats are gunning for giving the public access to hearings and transcripts with the intention to provide more transparency to American citizens and to persuade everyone to the side of impeaching Trump. Americans can expect a full public spectacle of media coverage and exposed information in the coming weeks.

“We are not here to run a show trial in an effort to impeach the president of the United States,” said Rep. Nunes (Calif.). “It’s clear that since the Democrats took control of the House of Representatives they have always intended to transform the Intelligence Committee into the Impeachment Committee.”

“Every one of their actions from the staff they hire to the Trump conspiracy theories they investigate, their willful neglect of our basic oversight duties demonstrates that this has been their plan from day one,” he continued. “Now this is further confirmed by the adoption of these rules which simply gives the House approval for the Intelligence Committee Democrats to continue pursuing their bizarre obsession with overturning the results of the last presidential election.”

Trump would be the third president in the history of the U.S. to be impeached, the other two include Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton.
