HomeState is looking to hire more employees for its growing Tex-Mex business. The California restaurant known for its Texas roots announced that applicants are in for a treat when they attend an in-person interview.
“Everyone will receive a taco and an in-person interview (in Spanish or English). Eligible applicants will be offered a job on the spot.”

The booming franchise is hiring for service team members, culinary logistic manager, marketing assistant, payroll and benefits administrator, line cook, kitchen manager, general manager, expeditor, dishwasher, and catering and event manager. Applicants and customers can subscribe to the HomeState email list to stay current with updates or apply on the website.
HomeState broke ground with its opening in 2013 at the restaurant’s Hollywood Blvd. location. The eatery’s menu would include its popular brisket taco and a host of breakfast tacos, along with its very Texas queso and chips. After hitting it big with customers, HomeState started to scale to multiple locations throughout Los Angeles County. Customers can now purchase their favorite tacos at locations in Highland Park, Playa Vista, and West Adams. A Pasadena location will be opening in June 2021.
The hiring announcement comes just in time as the state of California prepares to fully open the state on June 15 as Covid-19 vaccination rates increase.
“California is preparing to get back to normal. On June 15, capacity and distancing restrictions will be lifted for most businesses and activities. Large-scale indoor events will have vaccination or negative test requirements for attendees through at least October 1.”

With the lifted orders, physical distancing will not be required and capacity requirements for businesses will not be restricted, except for “Mega Events” that are characterized by large crowds over 5,000 people indoors and 10,000 people outdoors. As far as face mask wearing and traveling, residents will be required to follow guidelines recommended by the CDC and CDPH.
