Hip Hop HIPocrisy: Video Of Black Men “Rescuing” Policeman And Stomping Out Black Man Sparks Controversy

A controversial video that went viral online this week shows a white policeman being attacked by a black man. A group of black people looked on as the officer struggled to arrest the man. There was no context provided on why the man deserved to be arrested, but it was obvious that the majority of people who were present believed the policeman’s actions toward the black man was justified.

Losing his balance in the struggle, the police officer fell to the ground and the man proceeded to release a flurry of punches. That was until the group of observers jumped in and, get this, started beating up the black man.

The attack was vicious as the group of young men went overboard with each punch and stomp. It was something about the way the men had no issue with intentionally hurting the hurled up black man. The way they called him names and were so quick to turn on their own without any hesitation.

To be fair, the man who was in the process of being arrested most likely deserved to be treated firmly. However, how sickening is it to see that energy come from his own community of people.

That leaves the question, is all that talk about black empowerment and support out the window? Or were the men just trying to protect the crazy guy from getting killed by the policeman? Well, that’s up for debate.

While the headline “Black Men Rescue Policeman” is circulating around the Internet, it may be a twist that Republicans and Trump supporters are using to stir controversy and create a narrative that goes against the grain. Or, it could be that the particular people in the video were really trying to make a point that they can police their own communities and can do it without killing anyone.

Still, with the conversation of police brutality being one of the sole reasons for defunding police, it’s baffling that the attack was so violent and aggressive. See the video for yourself. Do you think that the black men should have interfered with the situation?
