Success is the best revenge and that couldn’t be more true for YouTuber-turned-media personality DJ Akademiks. The Everyday Struggle host posted a cryptic tweet showing off his new home purchase that included a gated landscaped backyard with pool that he recorded from a wooden deck.
“Backyard of my new crib…my bday present to myself…I got every car u can imagine..had to finally get the crib to match,” he said in the tweet.
The achievement is sweet for DJ Akademiks, who over the years has been the subject of jokes that have targeted everything from his appearance to him doing YouTube videos in his mother’s basement.
Now, the former college DJ is sitting pretty proving that dreams still come true. He even flexed on his haters by saying he paid for the estate with cash.
“Paid all cash. No mortgage. God is good. Chat N*****. This the blessings y’all supported me to get. Baement jokes can still fly tho.” Nice!
Born May 17, 1991, DJ Akademiks would keep fans informed on YouTube with his entertainment based videos. One of his most popular creations was his channel The War In Chiraq where he would follow the tragic stories of Chicago rappers.
DJ Akademiks’ content would include coverage of retaliation murders, rapper and producer beefs, and popular rising artists at the time, such as Chief Keef, Fredo Santana, Rico Recklezz, Lil Durk, Montana of 300, Lil Reese, Lil Herb, King Yella and more.
He would soon stop producing those videos and move on to reporting all hip hop news. His new channel, simply titled DJ Akademiks, has garnered 2.33 million subscriptions and produced 2,558 videos to date.
Over the years he’s been leaked to the likes of Tekashi 6ix9ine, and entrenched in hip hop beefs that ultimately raised his popularity and clout. DJ Akademiks has managed to flip a hobby to a paid position and that’s what you call a boss.
