Jonathan Majors goes head to head with Michael B. Jordan in the upcoming third installment of boxing drama, Creed III. The storyline this time around makes for an interesting plot surrounding the Creed legacy.
Majors plays childhood friend, Damian Anderson, who returns into Adonis Creed’s (Jordan) life after serving a bid in prison. A former boxer with potential to be as good as Creed, Anderson pursues the dream again at the ultimate price of their friendship.
Tessa Thompson (Westworld), Phylicia Rashad (This Is Us), Florian Munteanu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and Wood Harris (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty) return to their roles in the franchise.

The third installment of the Creed franchise comes with a change in its directing and writing staff. Creed III is Jordan’s directorial debut. The story comes from longtime collaborator of Jordan, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, and is written by Keenan Coogler (Space Jam: A New Legacy) and Zach Baylin (King Richard).
Based on the Rocky franchise made popular by Sylvester Stallone, Ryan Coogler wrote, with the help of scribe Aaron Covington, and directed Creed, the first installment released in 2015. Steven Caple Jr. directed Creed II, released in 2018, with story concept from Sascha Penn, and the script written by Sylvester Stallone and Juel Taylor.
Creed III is a collaboration of Outlier Society, Jordan’s production banner, along with MGM, Glickmania, Proximity Media, and Chartoff-Winkler Productions.
Creed III is set to release on March 3, 2023.
