Atlanta hip hop artist Gunna has been arrested in connection with the RICO investigation that indicted 28 members of the YSL Records label cofounded by Young Thug. Born Sergio Giavonni Kitchens, the “No Time” rapper was booked at the Fulton County jailhouse early on Wednesday morning.
In an 88-page, 56-count indictment that includes several members of YSL, Gunna is being charged with one count of the conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. He’s accused of possession of stolen property and drug possession with the intent to distribute.
His counterpart, Young Thug, appeared in court on Tuesday (May 10) in a Zoom hearing. He is facing two counts in the indictment, along with the allegation that he is the leader of the Young Slime Life gang who orchestrated several incidents of criminal activity.
Gunna is expected to appear before a Fulton County judge on Wednesday.
Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, is on a mission to clean up Atlanta streets of gang activity. Her, the Mayor of Atlanta, and police authorities are planning to execute several indictments on RICO charges in the near future.
