In a five-part docuseries, FOX Nation will be analyzing the intriguing case of actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused of staging an attack that made headlines for its political and racial agendas. John Finley, FOX Nation’s Executive Vice President, made the announcement on Wednesday (March 1).
Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax will recap the events that occurred January 19 and feature exclusive interviews from parties involved, including brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo. The Osundairo brothers were part of the alleged scheme to stage a hate crime as two members of the Trump-supporting extremist group, MAGA (Make America Great Again).
“Anatomy of a Hoax takes a deep dive into a scam that reverberated through the worlds of entertainment, pop culture and politics,” Finley said in a press release. “We’re excited for viewers to hear the real stories behind this scandal from the Osundairo brothers for the very first time.”
The docuseries will premiere on FOX Nation the day of Smollett’s appeal. Smollett has maintained his innocence throughout the debacle. Back in March 2022, Smollett appeared in a Chicago court where he was sentenced to 150 days in jail and probation. When asked if he had a statement, he let the court know that he is not “suicidal” and “if anything happens to me when I go [to prison], I did not do it to myself.”
