Video: Trailer Drops For The Ninth Installment In The Fast & Furious Franchise

Vin Diesel is back with the old crew, minus Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with a new film to add to the Fast & Furious franchise.

The trailer for Universal’s Fast & Furious 9: The Fast Saga was released on Friday.

Directed by Justin Lin, the action-packed trailer opens with a slowed version of Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” that became famous in the seventh installment after the untimely death of Paul Walker who played Brian O’Conner in the franchise.

In the trailer, Dom Toretto played by Vin Diesel faces off with his own brother, played by John Cena.

Dom joins forces with the fast car loving gang Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), and Tej Parker (Ludacris).

In a surprise twist at the end of the trailer, Han appears. Yes, that Han (Sung Kang). The one that was killed off in Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. We don’t know how he came back to life, but we’re sure it’s a compelling narrative.

Dwayne Johnson is noticeably absent from the trailer. However, Charlize Theron returns in her role of the antagonist as Cipher.

Helen Mirren, Jordana Brewster, and Cardi B are some other names attached to the film.

The ninth installment in the franchise will be in theaters on May 22, 2020.
