Rumors have been swirling for months that rapper Lil Wayne has reportedly gotten engaged to his girlfriend of about one year, Wilhelmina plus size model Le’Tecia Thomas.
Fans on social media are claiming the two are engaged because of a number of recent hints found in the alleged couple’s Instagram posts.
The Australian model, who leaves comments and heart emojis on Lil Wayne’s posts often, has been sporting a huge engagement ring in photos dating back to October. Fans asked her if she was engaged and she admitted that she was but would not confirm her partner.
Just as recent as New Year’s Eve, Lil Wayne and Thomas were allegedly spotted spending the holiday together with other family members at the rapper’s Miami home. Lil Wayne fan page and website LilWayneHQ posted a photo on Instagram of the the two together saying, “Lil Wayne with his fiancé La’Tecia Thomas at a New Year’s Eve party!”
Thomas has been an advocate for body positivity after gaining weight from a size 6 to a size 16.
“I still exercise…I don’t obsess over numbers and I don’t train three hours a day, every day like I used to but I’m living more of a balanced lifestyle now,” she told the DailyMail. “I’m definitely a lot happier than what I used to be and even if I were to lose weight now, I know I’ll be in a better place because my mind is in a healthy place.”
In addition to Thomas modeling for Wilhelmina, she also models for Fashion Nova Plus. Videos on YouTube show her modeling different outfits for the popular social media brand.
Lately, Lil Wayne has kept his relationships private. He was engaged to longtime girlfriend and waitress Dhea Sodana for nearly 10 years before being linked to Thomas. The Young Money rapper is currently working on his new album Funeral expected to be released later in Spring.
