Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has done it again. The inspiring actor and athlete surprised a Navy veteran by gifting him his personal, custom-made vehicle. Oscar Rodriguez attended a special screening of Johnson’s film Red Notice in Culver City, CA just before Thanksgiving when, to the delight of the attendees, the superstar walked in the theater.
Johnson proceeded to call out Rodriguez from the audience. A shocked Rodriguez bear-hugged the actor, still not believing his luck. Rodriguez, who is an advocate for women who are domestic violence survivors, leads his church, and takes care of his 75-year-old mother, had no idea that Johnson had a special delivery waiting for him outside of the Cinemark movie theater.
The two approached Johnson’s custom-made truck where Rodriguez opened the door to find a note.
“Thank you for your service brother, enjoy your new truck,” Rodriguez read aloud from a card Johnson wrote him.
Immediately, Rodriguez broke down into tears. Johnson encouraged him to start the ignition. After an emotional moment, all Rodriguez could say was “Thank you, it’s just love, bro.”
It’s a truly motivating and inspiring act on both ends. Johnson for his incredible kindness, and Rodriguez for his considerable goodwill.
