How’d He Do? Drake Makes Appearance In State Farm Super Bowl Commercial

Drake was featured in a State Farm ad during a commercial break where he plays the stand-in for State Farm regular “Jake from State Farm,” played by actor Kevin Miles, formerly known as Kevin Mimms. Quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers are also in the 30-second clip.

Miles first appeared in the action film Innocent in 2010 before graduating from the Chicago Academy for the Arts in 2012. After some roles in short films, Miles would land parts in S.W.A.T., Underdogs, and Criminal Minds. In 2020, State Farm hired the actor to be the commercial spokesperson of the insurance company, replacing former commercial actor Jake Stone.

Drake, on the other hand, started his acting career in various TV series, including Soul Food and Best Friend’s Date. His breakout role occurred in 2005 when he secured the role of Jimmy Brooks in the popular TV series Degrassi. By 2009, he made a name in hip hop with his first music video for hit single “Best I Ever Had.”

Concentrating solely on his rap career, Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, flirted with acting every now and again, appearing in the sports comedy Breakaway, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, lending his voice to the animated character Ethan in Ice Age: Continental Drift and hosting Saturday Night Live.
