Love him or hate him, YouTuber DJ Akademiks has been an ongoing hallmark of entertainment news since his days of covering the drill music scene of Chicago. He’s known for his spirited commentary and unpopular opinions, and some people take his big personality to task.
But beyond the rah rah of his bravado lies a person of great potential with a keen knack for analysis that can compete with Nancy Grace or even “the feds.” From the YSL Rico case to his insights on the tragic shooting of Migos’ Takeoff, it would be signs of envy to not give the longtime influencer his props.
His current hip hop analysis is geared towards the volcanically hot court case between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez where the latter’s freedom is at risk to the tune of 20-plus years in prison if found guilty.
Sidebar, Lanez is being accused of shooting the “Savage” rapper in her feet after a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in July 2020. On Tuesday (Dec. 13), Megan took the stand in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom giving a tearful rendition of the controversial incident that she claims caused her suicidal thoughts over the last two years.
Her former friend, Kelsey Harris, also took the stand on Wednesday (Dec. 14) as a key witness. Harris revealed that she found out about a secret relationship between Megan and Lanez during the drunken fight that occurred inside of a Cadillac Escalade.
“[Lanez] just saying that they had a relationship, they were having a relationship,” Harris shares in court. “An argument ensues and just continues. Me and her are arguing about her disloyalty.”
