It’s about time! After a long hiatus, the brimming FX series Atlanta is set to make its return to TV screens in 2022. The news was confirmed when FX released a teaser of the third season on Christmas Day.

The usual suspects return, including Earn (Donald Glover), Van (Zazie Beetz), Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), and Darius (LaKeith Stanfield), and this time the quartet is leaving Atlanta to take a cross-country trip to Europe. Clips of the crew embracing (or tolerating) a new culture makes for some absurd comedy that is sure to entertain.

Atlanta has been riddled with inconsistent release dates, to the dismay of loyal viewers. The Donald Glover creation first premiered in Sept. 2016, and then took a one-year break before returning in March 2018. After the second season, production was halted as a result of a combination of issues that involved schedule conflicts and the ongoing pandemic.

This year marks three years since Atlanta has graced TV screens with new episodes. Luckily, the five-time Primetime Emmy-winning series has already been renewed for a fourth season and production kicked off in the summer of 2021, guaranteeing viewers a more consistent release schedule.

Consisting of 10 episodes, the third season premieres on Thursday, March 24 with two back-to-back episodes. Viewers can catch the series on FX or the streamer Hulu.
