One of the men responsible for killing 10 people in 2002 as part of a duo sniper team is now married to a wealthy activist.
Lee Boyd Malvo, 35, had a jailhouse wedding with trust fund baby Sable Noel Knapp, 30, at the Red Onion State Prison in Virginia on March 6.
The marriage certificate was processed at the Wise County Circuit Court. Knapp is known for her activism often dedicating time and money to causes regarding social and racial equality.
Knapp’s grandfather, Bill Knapp, amassed the wealth for the family by owning one of the biggest real estate companies in Iowa.
At the age of 17, Malvo and John Allen Muhammad went on a killing spree in the Washington D.C. area. For three weeks, the duo would use sniper rifles to target people at gas stations and parking lots. Eventually captured, Muhammad was executed by the death penalty in 2009.
Knapp has served 17 years in prison, but is expected to be eligible for parole in 2024.
