Kim Kardashian West Stepping Into Her Father’s Shoes As She Works With Singer Monica On High Profile Case For The Release Of No Limit Records Corey “C-Murder” Miller

An unlikely celebrity is going to bat to get Corey “C-Murder” Miller, New Orleans rapper and brother to Percy “Master P” Miller, out of prison. Kim Kardashian West has vowed to assist with the release of C-Murder who has served two decades in prison for the shooting death of a fan in 2002.

His former girlfriend, singer and songwriter Monica, sparked the engine that caused the aspiring lawyer to get involved.

Monica, who was dating Miller during the time he was arrested, posted on Instagram, “@CMurder & I are bonded by truth, honesty & Loyalty! There’s never been a promise broken & I vowed to seek help! After a tearful conversation with @LaLa she and I spoke to @KimKardashian & I explained why I knew Corey was innocent.”

Monica spoke about the case not having a solid foundation and there being reasonable doubt.

“I shared that there are lots of issues in Corey’s case that speak to his innocence including witnesses recanting their testimony, dna not matching & a 10-2 jury!” she continued. “I’ve locked arms with @KimKardashian, @JessicaJackson, @EdyHaney and all those who believe in Corey and are ready to fight to #FreeCoreyMiller.”

Bay Area human rights attorney Jessica Jackson is the former Mayor of the City of Mill Valley and has advocated for the release of many innocent prisoners. Jackson is a co-founder of the bipartisan coalition #cut50, which strives to reduce crime and incarceration in the United States through the social initiative Dream Corps.

University of California, Davis graduate Erin Haney is the National Policy Director at REFORM Alliance. She also serves as senior legal counsel at #cut50.

Miller was given life in prison, but has always maintained that he was innocent. Mrs. Kardashian West took to Twitter to express her concern over the unjust arrest and imprisonment of Miller, which Master P has fought endlessly over the years.

“On January 18, 2002 a tragedy occurred when a young man was killed. The next day Corey Miller was arrested for the murder,” Mrs. Kardashian West tweeted. “The jury convicted Corey 10-2 and he was sentenced him to life in prison. If his trial was today, the jury would have had to be unanimous for him to be convicted. Since his trial, witnesses have recanted, new evidence of his potential innocence has come to light, and there are claims of jurors being pressured into voting to convict. True justice for the young man requires that the person who actually killed him be held responsible and the Corey Miller be returned to his kids.”

Kardashian West is courageously stepping into the shoes of the infamous attorney and her father Robert Kardashian. He was most known for defending former football player O.J. Simpson against the conviction of murder in the case of Nicole Brown Simpson. Alongside the great attorney Johnny Cochran, Mr. Kardashian beat the case sparking a nationwide celebration and upset, simultaneously.

A graduate of the University of Southern California and the University of San Diego School of Law, Mr. Kardashian grew up in Baldwin Hills in Southern California and attended Dorsey High School.

He made his fortune when he co-founded and later sold the highly regarded trade publication Radio & Records. From there, he would become a serial entrepreneur while also practicing law. Some of his businesses included Movie Tunes, Juice Inc., and Concert Cinema. He passed away at the age of 59 from esophageal cancer in 2003.

One of the most admirable aspects of Kardashian West’s journey is that she has not forgotten her roots and despite what the critics say, she continues to lead a legacy that her father would be proud of. What better way to honor your ancestors then to step into your potential full force. Kudos to Kim!
