Crypto.com Goes Global After Inking Sponsorship Deal For 2022 FIFA World Cup

Since acquiring the naming rights in a $700 million deal to what is now called Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Crypto.com has been on a mission to expand its platform and bring cryptocurrency to the masses.

From memorable commercials involving A-list celebrities Matt Damon and Lebron James, which cleverly resonates with the mantras “Fortune Favors The Brave” and “You Got to Call Your Own Shots,” Crypto.com is not just using these as advertisement fodder but actually applying these phrases to their planning strategy.

After multiple partnerships with Formula 1 Racing, the Philadelphia 76ers, and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), to name a few, the cryptocurrency exchange giant has decided to go all in on reaching the global population by agreeing to a premier and exclusive sponsorship deal with Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) for the 2022 World Cup that is being held in Qatar.

“We could not be more excited to sponsor the FIFA World Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, and to drive further awareness of Crypto.com globally,” said Kris Marszalek, Co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com. “Through our partnership with FIFA, we will continue to use our platform in innovative ways so that Crypto.com can power the future of world-class sports and fan experiences around the world.”

Since 2010, the World Cup has attracted a viewership larger than the total population of the United States to the tune of $500 Million. With only 4% of the world’s population investing into crypto, this partnership is very advantageous in bringing in new investors globally for exchanges like Crypto.com.

According to FIFA’s Chief Commericial Officer, Kay Madati, “Crypto.com has already demonstrated a commitment to supporting top-tier teams and leagues, major events and iconic venues across the world, and there is no platform bigger, or with a greater reach and cultural impact, than FIFA’s global platform of football.”

Founded in 2016, Crypto.com serves more than 10 million customers and has over 4,000 employees across its offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia. The forward-thinking organization has established several high-profile partnerships since its founding in the fields of basketball, MMA, football, ice hockey, and motor sport.

Also founded in 2016, FIFA is a intercontinental organization that serves to govern and develop the football (soccer) sport around the world. The company’s mission is to make the sport more “global, diverse, and inclusive.”

The World Cup will be held from Nov. 21 to Dec. 18., and can be seen on multiple sporting networks to be announced at a later date.
