The 2020 lineup for the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival was announced late Thursday on Twitter.
Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean are set to headline the back-to-back weekend festival that takes place on April 10-12 and April 17-19 in the desert of Indio, CA.
Weekend 1 is already sold out, but tickets for Weekend 2 will be available for presale on Monday, Jan. 6 at noon PST.
The festival created a stir online when they announced that Oscar-nominated film composer Danny Elfman, known for his infamous work with filmmaker Tim Burton, will also be performing at Coachella 2020.
Elfman’s credits are extensive including scores for The Simpsons, Edward Scissorhands, The Night Before Christmas, Good Will Hunting, and the Spider-Man films.
Elfman is the second well-known composer, Hans Zimmer being first, to perform at the music festival that traditionally has alternative and hip hop acts.
Fans are also excited to hear that Frank Ocean will be performing at Coachella, especially after the flub that took place at Tyler The Creator’s festival Flog Gnaw. Rumors of Frank Ocean’s appearance at the festival sparked online, but were not confirmed by Tyler The Creator.
Instead, Drake appeared on the stage to a frustrated group of people that booed throughout his set after realizing that Frank Ocean would not be performing.
Rage Against the Machine makes its return to the popular festival after 21 years. The rock band headlined Coachella when it first started in 1999.
Some other acts that will be present include Megan Thee Stallion, Big Sean, City Girls, 21 Savage, DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, Doja Cat, Lil Uzi Vert, Ari Lennox, Lil Nas X, FKA twigs, and Denzel Curry.
Since the inception of the festival in 1999, Coachella has showcased over 2,400 performers, including Childish Gambino in 2019, Beyonce in 2018, Kendrick Lamar in 2017, Drake in 2015, Kanye West in 2011, and Jay-Z in 2010.
