Charlamagne Tha God Revamps ‘Tha God’s Honest Truth’ To Be Solution-Oriented, Changes Show Name

Charlamagne Tha God knows the power of continuous development. The Breakfast Club host is approaching season 2 of his Comedy Central series, Tha God’s Honest Truth, with a refreshed structure that will focus on solving problems instead of complaining about them.

The MTV Entertainment series will feature panel discussions consisting of a wide spectrum of talent from various backgrounds debating on current affairs and popular culture. In addition, the name of the late-night show has been changed to Hell of a Week with Charlamagne Tha God.

“Last year I shared Tha God’s Honest Truth about politics, culture and social issues but this year, I’m thinking enough shows talking about problems — I want to discuss solutions,” Charlamagne told Deadline. “Hell of A Week will be a safe space for free speech and a safe space for comedy. Basically, if you don’t want to be ‘canceled,’ this isn’t the show for you.”

Co-executive produced by Stephen Colbert and Aaron McGruder, the first season was a powerful debut for the best-selling book author. Entering a space that has been dominated by White male counterparts, Charlamagne introduced a refreshing take of the late night talk show by not only focusing on news, politics, and culture, but also issues directly affecting the Black and hip hop communities.

He’s featured a range of guests on his show, including Vice President Kamala Harris, comedian and actress Amanda Seales, cultural pundit Van Lathan, co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology Tristan Harris, and Vanderbilt University sociology professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, to name a few.

Hell of a Week with Charlamagne tha God debuts July 28, 2022 on Comedy Central. Watch a teaser below:
