Ceaser Emanuel will no longer be a part of the long-running VH1 television series Black Ink Crew. The Viacom network discontinued his services as the lead personality on the show after footage of Emanuel abusing dogs surfaced on the Internet. Despite the end of the partnership, Emanuel will be featured in the upcoming 10th season, which recently wrapped.
“We have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from Black Ink Crew New York,” a representative of VH1 said in a statement on Instagram. “Since next season was close to finishing production, this decision will not impact the upcoming season.”
The tattoo shop owner was caught redhanded via a neighbor’s Ring camera. The footage shows Emanuel proceeding to kick a dog and throw the dog around, amongst other things.
Emanuel first appeared on VH1 in 2013 as the owner of the popular tattoo shop on the corner of 113th and Lennox in Harlem. The drama-filled employees and celebrity clientele made the show highly successful, spurring spin-offs Black Ink Crew: Chicago and Black Ink Crew: Compton. Emanuel was also able to expand his business to a variety of markets, including Atlanta, Houston, and Brooklyn.
A few of VH1’s show talent have taken to social media to comment on the debacle, including former Black Ink Crew star Donna Lombardi, who called Emanuel “sick.” Milan Christopher from Love & Hip Hop Hollywood also had his input as he called out VH1 for being contradictory.
