Brian Tyree Henry From ‘Atlanta’ Lands First Lead Role In Casimir Nozkowski Pic ‘The Outside Story’

Two-time Emmy nominee Brian Tyree Henry has been cast as the lead actor in the Casimir Nozkowski pic The Outside Story. The role will be Henry’s first time as lead in a feature film.

Written by Nozkowski, The Outside Story is about a brokenhearted, introverted editor by the name of Charles, who comes face to face with his problems when he accidentally locks himself out of his 2nd floor apartment. Stumbling into a life-changing odyssey up, down, around and above his block, Charles meets a world of previously avoided neighbors played by Sunita Mani (Mr. Robot), Olivia Edward (Better Things), Asia Kate Dillon (Billions), Maria Dizzia (Orange is the New Black), and Michael Cyril Creighton (The Post). Sonequa Martin-Green, known for her roles in Star Trek: Discovery and The Walking Dead, plays Isha, the wife of Charles.

The Samuel Goldwyn Films project is executive produced by Cameron O’Reilly, Evan Thayer, and Lisa Kleifer Chanoff. Producers onboard include Joseph Stephans, Frank Hall Green, Brian Newman, and Nozkowski.

Henry has built a great following with memorable roles in Drunk History, White Boy Rick, If Beale Street Could Talk, Joker and the cult favorite Atlanta. His work continues as he’s scheduled to make an appearance in tent-pole Godzilla vs. Kong later this year, along with a slate of projects that include The Woman in the Window, Cyrano, and Red, White and Water, to name a few.

The Outside Story will premiere on April 30, 2021.
