Remember when Jack Harlow claimed he didn’t know that singer Brandy Norwood was the sister of reality star Ray J in an interview that went viral? The White Men Can’t Jump actor couldn’t even recognize Brandy’s popular hit song “Angels In Disguise.”
Granted he’s only 24-years-old and the song released in 1998, it’s only half surprising that he was unaware. However, social media critics gave Harlow a hard time after the music history fumble. To the delight of fans, Brandy, who didn’t take the slight to heart, came back with an unofficial freestyle over the Louisville artist’s song.
In a turn of events, it looks like Harlow not only enjoyed Brandy’s rendition, but he also had the perfect rebuttal to the harsh criticism when he invited the R&B legend herself to perform during his set at the 2022 BET Awards. That’s right, Brandy, looking astonishingly refreshed, floated onto the stage during Harlow’s performance of his single, “First Class,” rapping in what appears to be the debut of the radio hit’s remix.
The stunned crowd responded with a cheerful applause. For good measure, the camera panned to Ray J in the audience dancing next to his former — or current? — wife, Princess Love, as they excitedly supported the duo.
Harlow and Brandy hugged it out after the tantalizing performance. Now, that’s how you dead a beef instigated by the “InnaNet!” Harlow also was joined by living rap legend Lil Wayne, who performed “Poison” with Harlow.
Hosted by Taraji P. Henson, the 2022 BET Awards kicked off at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA on June 26.
