Damn, damn, damn! August Alsina is truly a talented singer with enough layers that can keep listeners entertained for a lifetime. His song “Song Cry” is on the MouthSoap Playlist not only because it is a great song overall, but it also exemplifies how genius he is when it comes to making art imitate life and turning tragedy to triumph.

It’s been five years since Alsina released his 2015 studio album This Thing Called Life. So, fans were excited to get their hands on The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy, released June 26.
The independent album has 27 tracks with features from Lil Wayne, Yo Gotti, Darrel Walls, Juicy J and Tink. The hour and a half long project is accompanied with a 5-part documentary on the New Orleans artist called stateofEMERGEncy: The Rise of August Alsina.

To top it off, yesterday (June 30) Alsina did an exclusive interview with The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee. In the interview, he talked about his relationship with his mother, dealing with his sister’s death, making a new album and, dreadfully, he rehashed the conversation about his relationship with Jada Pinkett and the Smith family.
To be fair, Angela Yee asked him about Jada, but he didn’t have to answer. Better yet, he nearly broke the Internet by saying Will Smith gave Alsina his “blessing” to develop a relationship with his wife.
A caller to The Breakfast Club said it all when he gave the R&B star “Donkey of the Day” saying that Alsina was using his relationship with Jada to promote his new album.
