One popular Atlanta barbecue restaurant is launching a second location to the glee of its customers. In the summer of 2020, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q will be opening the new restaurant in Atlanta’s Upper Westside at The Works, a Selig Development.
This news is wonderful for customers who have stood in lines for hours to buy the tasty meats and sides.
Founded by twin brothers Justin and Jonathan Fox, the first location was opened nearly 12 years ago on Dekalb Avenue in southeast Atlanta.
“We spent nearly four years finding the perfect space and we knew immediately that The Works would work for us,” co-owner Jonathan Fox said. “We are thrilled to be a part of the project’s community of creative makers and are excited for our guests to enjoy a full experience, from retail to dining and more, while visiting us.”
The brothers who are originally from Fort Worth, Texas, started their careers as pit-masters by throwing BBQ kickbacks for their friends and family. Soon, people started requesting catering from the brothers, which soon translated to a pop up restaurant.
In 2016, the brothers would add catering pop ups at the SunTrust Park and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The new location for the second restaurant will be over 9,300 square feet and accommodate at least 325 patrons. The restaurant will also have two covered patios.
Fox Bros Bar-B-Q has long been a tourist destination and local treasure for the city of Atlanta. Rated with 4.5 stars on Yelp, the restaurant is best know for its combo plates consisting of brisket and ribs. For dessert, the banana pudding is highly recommended.
