Atlanta Won: Gucci Mane x Jeezy Call Truce While Grabbing 1.7 Million In Instagram Views During Verzuz Battle

A total of 1.7 million viewers showed up to club Verzuz at the “Instagram Lounge” on Thursday (Nov. 19) night to see Gucci Mane and Jeezy battle it out for the crown of Atlanta. After an hour into the social media event, the two rappers stepped into the ring (actually a strip club) wearing the freshest fits, long coats and jewelry as they went head to head dropping heat.

For a while the vibe was live as the momentum built, that was until Gucci Mane played that forbidden song…you know the one about him smoking a colleague of Jeezy’s? Yeah, that one.

It was definitely a low blow and Gucci even appeared to regret doing the song — but to keep it 100, the song is based on self-defense. Jeezy took it all in stride in a lengthy (and preachy) speech about all of hip hop’s fallen soldiers, including Nipsey Hussle and the recently deceased King Von (R.I.P.).

For a moment, it appeared the two were not going to end the night well. But, surprisingly, towards the end of the biggest Verzuz show for hip hop, to date, Gucci turned to face Jeezy and accepted the Snowman’s olive branch. It was a historic moment that brought relief to the many fans tuning in and played as a great example to the young rappers coming up.

So, who won? Atlanta won.
