‘Atlanta Exes’ Star Turned Critically-Acclaimed Author Monyetta Shaw Debuts At No. 1 On Amazon For Children’s Book

Monyetta Shaw has much to celebrate coming into the new year. The former Atlanta Exes reality star debuted at No. 1 on Amazon’s New Release chart with the children’s book The Chronicles of Nice Guy Maso, inspired by her son with the award-winning recording artist Ne-Yo.

Shaw, who describes the literary work as “an inspiring and powerful story of acceptance, character, and courage,” wrote the book to encourage her son, Mason Shaw-Smith, to follow his dreams. Previously, she released The Adventures of Maddie in honor of her daughter with Ne-Yo, Madilyn Shaw-Smith. She also released two other books, including Bigger Than Me and Kept It Classy. With her latest release, Shaw wants readers to be inspired by the story of kindness.

The family affair doesn’t end there, with Mason complementing the release of the children’s book with the single “Nice Guy” where he raps, “All I want to do is live a good life | All I want to do is just shine bright.”

Ne-Yo is stoked about his children following in his footsteps. The songwriter is not afraid to admit that he wants his children to be involved in the arts.

“I was totally prepared to be the parent that forced music on my kids for their own good.” says Ne-Yo. “But I didn’t have to! They took to it like ducks to water and I couldn’t be more proud! Not only do they like it, they’re actually really good at it! The mental benefit of having an outlet like music is a blessing in itself. They surprise me everyday, I’m proud everyday!”

Founder of The Evan Grace Group, Shaw is a mother, actress, business leader, 4x author, and philanthropist.  Her acting credits include roles in Soul Men, Video Girl, and Marcel, which is set for a 2022 premiere. Although the show was short-lived, she also became well-known for being a part of the VH1 reality show Atlanta Exes.

The Chronicles of Nice Guy Maso is available in paperback and hardcover at Amazon.com and across book outlets.
