The twin Philippou Brothers, better known as the YouTube duo RackaRacka, present a new horror film to entertain the genre’s diehard fans in the summer of 2023. Talk to Me is a chilling tale of a group of friends looking to spice up their night by delving into the supernatural with the simple shake of an embalmed hand.
The film written by RackaRacka’s Danny Philippou, Thor: Love and Thunder actor Daley Pearson, and newcomer scribe Bill Hinzman, plays on the trauma of Mia (Sophie Wilde), who is dealing with the anniversary of her mother’s death. When she decides to embark on the risky dare to hold an embalmed hand for 90 seconds, her world is suddenly disrupted by a demonic force.
In addition to Wilde, the film stars Alexandra Jensen, Joe Bird, Otis Dhanji, and Miranda Otto. Both Philippou Brothers share directing credits.

Based out of Australia, RackaRacka, consisting of brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, self-described as “wannabe filmmakers on a rampage,” turned their dreams into reality after a journey that kicked off on YouTube in 2013.
The channel featured outrageous video clips of entertaining bits merging comedy with horror. The duo often spoofed popular characters such as 6ix9ine, Ronald McDonald, Pokémon’s Pikachu, and more, and pulled off pranks, such as driving “underwater cars,” in unique scenarios that garnered millions of views.
RackaRacka received a couple of industry nods for their content, including a nomination for “Best Short Horror Film” at the 2015 Fright Meter Awards and a win in the category of “Best Online Video or Series” at the 2017 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards.
After experiencing several issues with YouTube, the Philippou Brothers started focusing on feature-length screenplays, starting with Talk to Me. In 2019, the Philippou Brothers relocated to Los Angeles to seriously pursue a career in film and entertainment and shortly thereafter, received the outstanding news that the screenplay would be picked up and fully funded.
Talk to Me made its rounds on the film festival circuit, screening at Australia’s Adelaide Film Festival in 2022 and most recently, Sundance 2023. The horror pic, produced by Causeway Films and distributed in the U.S. by A24, is now receiving its worldwide theatrical release after critical acclaim.
Talk to Me will be in theaters this summer on July 28, 2023.
