Reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee announced a multifaceted global strategic partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) that will enable him to develop new projects in film, TV and music.
The “Con Calma” artist will release music projects via UMG’s Ingrooves Music Group, while film and television projects will be developed through Polygram Entertainment.
“I’ve worked hard to build a career that transcends cultures, borders and languages, and I created new business models that helped bring our music to the world,” Daddy Yankee said in a statement. “By making one of the biggest commitments to an artist in the history of Latin music, Universal Music and Sir Lucian are partners who value my legacy, my music and my contributions. This new single is just the beginning of the new projects we have planned and I’m excited to get started.”
The platinum selling artist has spearheaded a movement in Latin music and successfully channeled Latin culture throughout the world. He’s a Top 20 Global Artist, selling over 17 million albums and accumulating over seven billion streams on YouTube.
