Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation and the NAACP have awarded the first round of recipients of the Small Business Impact Fund grants.
Over the summer, Beyoncé and the NAACP partnered to provide financial assistance to black-owned businesses who have experienced challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Congratulations to our Round 1 recipients of the BeyGOOD Black-Owned Small Business Impact Fund,” a statement read on Beyonce.com. “We salute all that applied, and we are encouraged by your dedication to entrepreneurship. With the NAACP, our partner in this initiative, we are building a robust strategy that will expand our support services. Round 2 opens in September.”
In the first round, the $10,000 grants went to 20 applicants, according to a posting on Beyonce.com. Recipients of the grant were mainly in Minnesota, one of the hardest hit states where the uprising of protests began sparked by George Floyd’s death. Other recipients were located in Houston, Los Angeles and New York.
Applications for the second round will open in September. Check out the list of grant recipients below:
