Lil Nas X Announces Break From Music

‘Old Town Road’ had a phenomenal run on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019. The hit song by Lil Nas X became the longest-running No. 1 song in history staying on the charts for 19 weeks.

Lil Nas X has certainly taken advantage of the popularity of the song, performing at several festivals and awards shows, including the MTV Video Music Awards and Bet Awards.

All the success seems to have heavily impacted the Atlanta native. It appears that Lil Nas X will be refraining from performances and public appearances.

The 20-year-old country rap star made a surprising announcement via Twitter on Friday, Sept. 27th.

“It’s been a wild last 7 months and im ready to take a little time off,” Lil Nas X posted. “sorry to everyone attending twitchcon or the sandbox music festival, I will not be there. I love u guys and will make it up to you some way.”

He recently dropped his single and visual for ‘Panini’ from his EP 7. The album has already been certified platinum.
