Conservative Trump supporters Lynette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, better known as the duo Diamond & Silk, are accusing Fox News of being racist in their new book Uprising: Who the Hell Said You Can’t Ditch and Switch? — The Awakening of Diamond and Silk, according to The Daily Beast.
The controversial sisters were ousted as commentators for a streaming platform at Fox Nation back in April after they shared misinformation and conspiracy theories about COVID-19.
Diamond & Silk felt that they were blindsided by the network when they were told to continue to do videos for the platform, but news broke that they were released.
“I was so overwhelmed that it brought me to tears because we had done nothing wrong,” Diamond wrote in the book. “Not one executive from Fox had told us we were spreading misinformation or conspiracy theories.”
The conspiracy theories the duo was referring to included accusations against the World Health Organization, Bill Gates and 5G technology. Diamond & Silk claimed that the numbers for COVID-19 deaths were intentionally exaggerated to give Donald Trump a bad rep.
As it has been a popular discussion on social media platforms, the sisters ran off with the conspiracy that Bill Gates will spearhead a vaccine used as a method of population control. They also claimed that the virus was manmade, carried by “deep-state snakes” to other countries and people were being infected by 5G technology.
After their departure from Fox, the sisters felt slighted because some of their white counterparts at the news station had also shared similar sentiments about COVID-19, but they were not fired or reprimanded.
“Why were our Fox Nation videos dialed back because they were deemed overly political, but it was okay for others on the network to talk about politics, even down to asking some of the same questions we had? Why were we such a threat?” Diamond writes. “We only did one video every week, and it was hidden behind a paid subscription wall. When you really think about it, was this part of the systemic racism that everybody was talking about?”
The people she was referring to included white counterparts Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, who have openly questions the circumstances surrounding COVID-19. At the end of the day, the sisters felt like the ending of their relationship to Fox News was a “hit” in retaliation for Trump criticizing the network.
Diamond & Silk have managed to obtain a new show on the Trump supporting channel Newsmax titled Diamond and Silk Crystal Clear. The half hour, weekend show debuted on August 8.
