That Time When India Love Admitted She Wish She Was More “Conservative” When It Came To Men

The beautiful India Love had to learn about the dating game the hard way and it was all because her dad didn’t give her the “talk,” according to the model. In a 2018 interview with Shannon Mack T.V., the former reality TV star, who has been linked to the likes of The Game, Drake and Lil Yachty, spoke about the lessons she learned from dating in the entertainment industry.

In one instance, she discovered that she was unknowingly involved with a married man after the wife DMed her. She’s also been used as eye candy to boost the self-esteem of thirsty rappers seeking attention.

India Love felt like if she would’ve received that self-love talk from her father, she may have avoided some of the pitfalls of dating.

“My dad didn’t give me the talks that he was supposed to give me, so I blame him a lot for me feeling like I live this fast life,” India Love said. “He’s working a lot so he never really had the time to sit us down, all five girls at that, and tell us about how to carry ourselves as a young lady. How to not deal with certain guys. You know, I needed that from him.”

She admits she had to learn by trial and error. Going into the dating scene, she was a freethinker who was very open, but that proved to be a dead end road full of lies, deceit and manipulation.

“I feel like I would’ve took a way more skeptical route, not being so free and open, and bold and doing whatever,” she continued. “I would’ve been way more like — [conservative] — about my moves.”

Nowadays, when she dates, she’s looking for a humble man of God who is family-oriented and really wants to get to know her for her. When asked about what she learned from her experiences, she didn’t hold back.

“You gotta be real conscious of who you think you trust. Have your eyes open at all times. Things that guys say isn’t usually what they mean. Don’t believe everything a man says. Actions speak louder than words.”

Sheesh. This is how good girls become bad, as Rihanna would put it. India Love has done a lot of growing up since her days in the headlines with that old geezer The Game. She has lived nine lives, bossing up on her social media sponsorships and music career, while modeling for various companies.

It’s good news that she came out of her trying dating life a better woman with more common sense. But, her story can be used as a cautionary tale for all the fathers out there to be better mentors to their beautiful, growing daughters or they too might end up being pawns to men who act like your worst bro’ or not loving themselves enough to know their boundaries.
