DJ Khaled And Drake Team Up For Singles “Greece” And “PopStar,” People Notice Similarities To Other Artists

DJ Khaled and Drake are at it again with two new singles for Hip-Hop listeners to devour. “Greece” and “Popstar” from DJ Khaled’s God Is The Greatest were released on radio airwaves, streaming platforms and the Internet to praise…and criticism.

While there are no music videos of the pair to accompany the songs, two official visualizers were released on DJ Khaled’s YouTube channel and are now trending in the top 20 videos of interest on the platform.

Most fans appear to be enjoying the singles. Others are pointing out that Drake’s performance on “Greece” is eerily similar to rapper Nav and singers The Weeknd and Justin Bieber. Yes, Justin Bieber.

It appears that the rabbit hole goes deeper, too. Listeners also feel that “Popstar” sounds like rapper Valee’s “Womp Womp.” But, what’s even crazier is that people are surprised that the platinum selling artist is experimenting with other people’s style.

Drake fans may not want to hear it, but he’s sounded like other artists before. Let’s not talk about that though because at the end of the day the rap game is no longer about originality or lyricism. It’s about vibes and Internet hits by any means necessary.

So, how can fans fault Drake for doing what industry rappers do? Besides, there was a time when he was the new kid on the block. He was the trendsetter and everybody and their mama was copying his style to the point it elevated him to legend.
