Tamar Braxton was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive in her Los Angeles hotel room by her boyfriend, David Adefeso.
The 43-year-old singer allegedly took prescription pills and “had been drinking” before Adefeso called 911 at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday. LAPD serviced the call as a “possible overdose.” While she is now in stable condition, the hospital has her under a 24-hour watch.
Braxton and Adefeso, 49, were staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Downtown Los Angeles when the incident occurred. The Braxton Family Values reality TV star has been involved in an intense contract dispute with WE TV that made headlines when the star addressed the issues on social media.
Although both family-oriented reality shows were hits, Braxton felt that her family was being underpaid for their show in comparison to the Kardashian family who has a similar show with Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
She changed her name on Twitter to “Tamar ‘Slave’ Braxton” and proceeded to share her thoughts on the unfairness of the entertainment industry.
Just recently, WE TV released a trailer of the new reality show Get Ya Life, in which Braxton is not shown in the most positive light. In the trailer, the show starts off positive with Braxton exercising, telling her truth to Mona Scott Young, seeing a therapist and having a good time with her family.
Then, all of a sudden, drama is immersed in the entire trailer as Braxton is shown arguing with the production staff. While some sources are saying that the trailer set Braxton off, this has not been confirmed.
Get well soon, Tamar!
