The theatre chain AMC is moving its opening date from July 15 to July 30. AMC Theatres has been closed for the last four months as a result of COVID-19.
“Our theatre general managers across the U.S. started working full time again today and are back in their theatres gearing up to get their buildings fully ready just a few weeks from now for moviegoers,” Adam Aron, CEO and President of AMC Theatres, said in a statement. “That happy day, when we can welcome guests back into most of our U.S. theatres, will be Thursday, July 30.”
AMC will require patrons to wear face masks and will have updated policies that incorporate safety procedures to protect guests.
“We continue to devote extraordinary resources into our plan to operate our theatres with a hyper commitment to the safety and health of our guests and associates, notably in the United States through our new AMC Safe & Clean initiative,” Aron continued.
The months of August and September are expected to have some highly anticipated film releases that include Tenet, Mulan, Antebellum, A Quiet Place Part II, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The King’s Man and The Glorias, to name a few.
