Reality star Evelyn Lozada went onto to social media to clear up rumors that she was the victim of domestic violence at the hands of former LA Dodgers player turned record label owner Carl Crawford.
Lozada, who is the ex-fiancee of Crawford, believed it was necessary to address the situation because of bloggers speculating she too was abused.
“I had to say something because I see stories popping up that’s trying to change my narrative,” she said in the video. “Carl has never put his hands on me. Carl has never intimidated me.”
The four-time All-Star baseball player has been accused of domestic violence by one of the mother’s of his children Gabriele Washington. Police records showed that Crawford, 38, went to Washington’s house on May 8 and brandished an unloaded gun while inquiring about her dating life.
Washington alleges that Crawford proceeded to push her, slam her head and choke her. According to the woman, Crawford would not leave until his one year old daughter distracted him. Once he left the scene, he would allegedly send Washington threatening texts, as reported in the affidavit.
The year 2020 has been quite a rollercoaster for Crawford. He was recently embattled in a media tug-a-war with Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion who sued Crawford to get out of her contract.
Meanwhile, his label 1501 Entertainment refused to let Megan release an album. Crawford claimed that he was blindsided by the rising star when she announced a new situation with Roc Nation and released the remix to “Savage” with Beyonce.
Since then, Crawford has been taxed with bad luck that included an incident that happened a couple of weeks ago when a young woman and 5-year-old boy drowned in the pool at his Houston home.
Now, with the domestic violence accusations, he is facing up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
