HBO released the official teaser for highly anticipated series Lovecraft Country. The sizzling teaser takes on racism in the rural South through, what looks like, a haunting and supernatural experience.
Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he meets up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on an adventurous road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father Montrose (Michael Kenneth Williams) who knows where they can find their birthright. The series is based on the novel of the same name penned by Matt Ruff.

Alongside showrunner Misha Green (Underground), Jordan Peele (Get Out) serves as creator and executive producer. J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), Bill Carraro, director of first episode Yann Demange (‘71), Daniel Sackheim (HBO’s Game of Thrones and True Detective) and David Knoller join as executive producers, as well.
The series is produced by Bad Robot Productions and Monkeypaw Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Lovecraft Country premieres in August on HOB.
