Tracee Ellis Ross Impresses With First Single From Film ‘The High Note’

From the soundtrack of The High Note, Tracee Ellis Ross releases “Love Myself”, an ode to self-love. Ross surprises fans with a very bold and beautiful voice over what sounds like a country pop song.

The official music video shows clips from the Focus Features’ film. In the video, behind the scenes footage is intermixed with Ross recording the song in a studio.

The High Note was originally supposed to be released in movie theaters, but due to coronavirus lockdowns the film went straight to home premiere on May 29.

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, Ross plays superstar singer Grace Davis who is faced with growing older in a music industry that celebrates youth.

Other actors starring in The High Note include Ice Cube as go-getter manager Jack Robertson and Dakota Johnson as personal assistant Maggie Sherwoode. This film is the first feature film writing credit for scribe Flora Greeson.

The High Note can be rented on Amazon’s Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play and other streaming services.
